Vintage Chinese Elm Low Stools | Wabi-Sabi Rustic Wooden Stools

Description

One_of_a_Kind Vintage Chinese Elm Stools

These vintage wooden stools were sourced from rural China and retain the beautiful character developed through years of use. Both pieces feature warm honey-brown tones, expressive natural wood grain, traditional joinery, worn edges and layers of naturally aged patina.

Their simple rectangular seats and rustic wooden frames reflect the straightforward craftsmanship of traditional rural furniture.
Rather than being refinished to look new, the worn surfaces, old marks and irregular details have been preserved, giving each stool its own quiet, timeworn character.

Style A
A features a particularly expressive seat surface with a distinctive leaf-like natural grain pattern running through the wood. The warm golden-brown patina highlights the grain beautifully. A fine, shallow hairline crack is also visible on the seat, together with natural wear, old joinery marks and variations developed over time.

Style B
B has a very similar form and warm aged tone, but its seat shows a broader, more flowing natural grain pattern with its own arrangement of knots, joinery marks and surface wear. The overall appearance is slightly more uniform, while still retaining the irregular texture and character expected from an authentic vintage piece,

Origin & Character
Originally made as practical everyday furniture in rural China, these stools reflect traditional woodworking and generations of ordinary use.
Visible joints, worn edges, old surface marks and variations in the wood are preserved as part of their history.

Each piece is unique. A and B are similar in size and overall appearance, but their grain patterns, wear marks, patina and construction details are naturally different.
